SPOUSES ON DIFFERENT PATHS
Q:
I don't know how it's possible to feel true intimacy
with my spouse when he is on a different path and doesn't believe
what I believe.
A, I & E:If you can't feel love for your spouse under ALL conditions,
then this, as you know, is a very conditional love. What you are
saying is "You have to behave in a way that suits me or else I won't
be able to unconditionally accept you." The question is, is this
the kind of person you want to be? The GIFT that your husband
is giving you right now from his "different path" is an opportunity
for YOU to find unconditional love, which, of course, is the
ultimate "intimacy." When you transcend the present
circumstances and find the unconditional love that is aching to be
expressed for this man, then you will be connecting with
the energy of all things good and wonderful. And, of course,
once you connect with that, you will find yourself living in a world
of all things good and wonderful.
There
are many spiritual masters from many spiritual disciplines who
believe that our purpose for being on planet earth is to express
unconditional love, which is inside of us and all around us and
accessible at any time. So the question back to you is, will
you be
listening to and answer the call of unconditional love in this
situation? The choice is yours... You can continue to
try to fix your husband, or you can just make peace inside of yourself.
If you don't make the choice for unconditional love and acceptance
with your spouse now, it's okay... You'll draw another opportunity to
yourself to do it again in the future... and another... and another...
